John S is a resident of New York City. He has been playing traditional American music including old time early country and bluegrass since the age of nineteen. Current instruments include old time banjo, bluegrass and old time guitar, and mandolin. He recently formed a duo with fiddler Bill Christophersen entitled the Manhattan Valley Ramblers.

Wayne Henderson is in town and will be giving a House Concert at Retrofret in Brooklyn on Thursday evening. Wayne asked me to bring along my banjo so I might play a couple of tunes with him. Will keep you all posted on how it goes.
