Why blog about urban old time and bluegrass

New York City was a crossroads of urban and rural American roots musicians in the nineteen fifties, sixties and into the seventies. Currently, there is a surge of interest in old time and bluegrass music in many parts of southwestern Virgnia, western North Carolina and eastern Tennessee. Yes, that's right, kids in grade and high school. A similar but further off the radar phenomenon is happening right here in the Big Apple. This blog is dedicated to rejuventating that old new, urban rural crossroads.
